The possible trajectories are better than a decade ago, but still indicate significant global warming.

This is what male solidarity & collective action to oppress women looks like:

Artist Andres Serrano--successful, but nowhere near the same class as Thiel & other billionaires in the files--stating that he'll vote for Trump, despite his politics, out of *sympathy* with T's sexual assaults on women.

A thing of beauty. 10/10, no notes!
Joke of the day from Moscow: Russia tried to unveil its first humanoid AI robot, Aidol. Key word: tried. The robot collapsed during its debut, forcing organizers to cut the presentation short. Their rushed attempt to lift the prop only made things worse.

Not one work in the exhibition “Global Fascisms” at Berlin’s Haus der Kulturen der Welt acknowledges the world burning just beyond the door. In Jara Nassar’s words, “What is the role of art when the world is on fire?”
The Irony of a Fascism Exhibition in Germany
Once a custodian of critical culture, Berlin’s Haus der Kulturen der Welt has become a model of capitulation to state control.

Excellent essay here on the slow strangling of mass literary culture in the West - most clearly in the US, but it's obviously happening here too

to me this is the story of the election

there was never any way for Cuomo to win if he didn't win the Bronx, central Brooklyn and southern Queens

and he lost all three

Zohran convinced the crucial swing voters in this race that he was the Democrat and Cuomo was not, and that's why he won
