Mayor Wu and I both started are @boston.gov careers as interns over a decade ago working to make permitting more clear, consistent, and predicable for residents and businesses. As Mayor, @wutrain.bsky.social is bringing that vision to life.
We’re making permitting in Boston simpler and smarter for all our residents and businesses. Follow along at boston.gov/permit-transformation.

Why should you care about Josh Kraft’s tax returns? This 🧵 will tell you exactly why.
Donald Trump has proven that politicians today can get away with ignoring basic transparency & avoid accountability on personal financial interests, conflicts & entanglements. I’ve been disclosing financials since before Trump & still believe in good government. Here’s why it matters in this race:🧵
Josh Kraft has yet to disclose his 2024 tax return — in fact, he's filing late
In May, the Kraft campaign said it would release his tax returns “in the near future.” But now the campaign says the candidate had asked the IRS for a six-month filing extension.

For the 12th year in a row, @boston.gov has earned a triple-A bond rating from both Moody’s and S&P Global.

This is the highest rating a city can receive, and a testament that our economic fundamentals, leadership, and local economy are strong and continue to grow.

Boston is suing the Trump Administration as it tries to cancel billions of dollars in critical housing and homelessness grants, alongside cities and counties across the US.

They want to force us to comply with unrelated and unconstitutional Executive Orders, but Boston doesn’t back down.

Last night I spoke to the people of Boston about our work to improve the lives of our residents and continue Boston’s historic legacy for the public good. I’m glad that the White House watched the speech, but Boston’s record does not match their reckless propaganda.
The White House directly attacked Mayor Michelle Wu, releasing an official statement criticizing the city of Boston’s policies related to how local officials cooperate or not with federal immigration enforcement efforts.

Wu was fiercely defensive and defiant in her third annual address to the city of Boston Wednesday, and openly critical of the federal government.

Two weeks ago, I went down to D.C. because some in Congress had questions about how we do things here in Boston.

It might have been my voice speaking into the microphone that day, but it was 700,000 voices that gave Congress their answer:

This is our city. #BostonSOTC

People who actually understand how government works know that the ‘efficiency’ strategy of these cuts is misguided at best and an intentional lie at worst.

I’m so sorry for all the incredible workers at Mathematica who got caught up in this mess.
Last week my company, Mathematica, laid off/furloughed 20% of our staff. It looks like this is just the beginning. Since this administration took office, they have been slashing federal research contracts. Some of these research projects have been going on for years, often close to the end (Thread)
