Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

This was on my list for a while. Sadly, I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped. Great story, but the execution was not my favorite.
I understand what Mary was going for, and writing this when she did is impressive, but it got tough to read at times listening to Victor

Somewhere Beyond The Sea by TJ Klune

Follow up to a book I absolutely adore, and I loved this book too. Was fun getting to revisit these wonderful characters again. Klune books continue to make me happy anytime I read them

Neuromancer by William Gibson

Was excited to finally get through this book after hearing how influential it was. Super fun read that was interesting to see how much it invented vs combined in way to feel like a definitive cyberpunk work. Definitely worth checking out

We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer

This book unfortunately fell flat for me. It wanted to be an approachable length while having a lot of hints and concepts for readers to speculate on. This left it feeling hollow, like it couldn't decide what it wanted to be.

Strange Pictures by Uketsu

The premise is being presented with drawings and trying to see what clues are hidden in them, all through a narrative that slowly spells out what the mystery/answer is. Fun and short experience, but just an ok read. Good for a change of pace.

The King in Yellow by Robert W Chambers

Finally got around to this book after hearing about it's impact for so long. It's just a subset of loosely linked short stories, making it a quick read. Worth checking out if you're into seeing a major inspiration for cosmic horror.

Babel by R.F. Kuang

Fantastic work of historical fiction. Equal parts well written fiction, commentary on colonialism, and an english major info dumping on various language etymologies. Highly recommend.

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

Great read, it's as gay and sad as I kept hearing it was. It lives up to the hype that's persisted for years. Loved it from beginning to end.

Piranesi by Susanna Clarke

Great book that I checked out after having it recommended from multiple people of varying tastes. Loved the first half in particular for how well it made you understand the main character's thought process
Easily goes in the category of books that any person could enjoy

Ravensong by TJ Klune

Second book in the Green Creek series, and it continues everything I love from Wolfsong.
It did a great job of filling in the gaps from the previous book without feeling like I was reading the same thing over again. Klune delivers again, and I can't wait for the next one.
