Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

And here's a Painted Lady who was lunching right beside! "The book" says they migrate from Africa every Spring and the journey takes several generations to complete. No wonder it felt like a nectar coffee ☕️

A letter by Dr. Andrew Forde, written for and published in the May 16th issue of the Irish Times. It reads: Starvation as warfare Sir, — As the world watches the starvation of the people in Gaza with a mixture of outrage and apathy, we should choose our words carefully. "Starving" is not the same as "being starved." The first is an adjective, the other is a transative verb. Starvation, as a method of warfare, is prohibited by the Geneva conventions, given the insidious cruelty and indignity associated with it. Every day of Israel's occupation of Gaza is an affront to international law, but its policy of starvation is an indiscriminate collective punishment indicative of moral and legal bankruptcy. Our words must consistently acknowledge that Gazans aren't just starving, they are being starved. Yours, etcetera. Dr. Andrew Forde, School of Law and Government, Dublin City University.
