It's quite hard to be autistic in a neurotypical world. I've been experiencing autistic burnout like never before at the moment, but something that's helped is seeing other Autistics, AuDHDer's, and ADHDer's talk about their experiences on here. (Having a brilliant supervisor helps too).

This is the first time I've been cited, what an honour to have it be about a topic as important as this one! An excellent read.
"... best practices are better implemented as the default so that all candidates, regardless of whether they are neurodivergent or neurotypical, can benefit without the added burden of disclosure at potential personal risk."

Huge thankyou to CILIP Disability Network for awarding NLISN this Accessibility Award, which has now safely arrived in the post! We won as an organisation so although Jo and Andy are named, this award is for all of us. The committee, the network and all our allies. #cilip #libraries #accessibility

And that sums up the first NLISN AGM! I may be biased, but @jofitz.bsky.social and @playbrarian.uk are brilliant humans. Thank you to all the members of the committee, and the network, who are helping us neurodivergent folks know we're not alone in this big old library world! @nlisn.bsky.social

I’ve been on a streak of brilliant reads lately (Her Majesty’s Royal Coven, Butter, and Yellowface). Just finished Chris Whitaker’s All the Colours of the Dark and I’m obsessed. As in, I read it in 5 hours and nearly cried, obsessed. Anyone else? #Allthecoloursofthedark

Nothing more humbling than being asked if you’re “really” over 18 by charity people and then the Face Verification not working for BlueSky. (I also get ID’d for Red bull a lot). I JUST HAVE A BABY FACE OK (I’m 26).

"Can you provide an example of action you have taken in the workplace to support a sense of belonging for all?"

This was a recent interview Q I had. I’ve spent years hiding my neurodiversity. But celebrating it fosters belonging. (1/5)

Seconded! So brilliant and fascinating- my brain is going everywhere now!
@sachacoward.bsky.social's #CALC25 keynote is definitely the most entertaining keynote I've ever attended - we've had Dragula, we've had the sexuality of robots, we've had Hans Christian Andersen face down weeping on Dickens' lawn, we've had sapphic mermaids, we've had swords as phalluses...

The phrase “everyone needs an Alison in their life” (educational, supervisional, or just in their general sphere), said during the #LILAC25 conference, comes to mind when reading this article.
