“I thought the pearl divers had been told to stay out of the water?”

“They have, but some can barely make ends meet, and some are ambitious to a fault.” The fisherman explained. “Did you see someone? Hmmm. No boat.”

“Red-gold hair, like Hux’s here. Took a breath and went back under.”

a screenshot of my digital workspace, with my reference on the left and my canvas on the right. both have a light cyan grid overlaying them, which is a technique I use to help me with accuracy as I freehand paint. After 33 hours all the main elements are in, there's a simple enough background, his clothes are done, so is his arm, hand, and watch, his hair is basically done-ish, and I'm working my way up his face adding the finest textures, moles, freckles, and tiny lines to the base I've already established for his features. I've made it up to eye level, and am happy to say he now has TWO eyes. His glasses are still more like a suggestion on the left side of his face, and his left temple and forehead still need to have their textures done. He also needs a left eyebrow, and a proper hairline.

“I don’t think you know what you do to me,” he said, adjusting her legs now to settle between her thighs. He pressed into her, watched as her mouth fell open in a soundless gasp. “Do you feel it?”

“Ben,” she said, reaching for him. He let her pull him down, lips crashing together again.

Their kisses turned frenzied, hungrier than before. Teeth clanged as tongues tangles but neither seemed to mind the mess, lost as they were in each other. Yet, neither rushing to tug or pull at clothes. Ben felt by now all too familiar tightness in his chest, like his heart would bust out of him. He pulled back, resting his forehead on hers, breath ragged.

“Do you, Rey? Please, Tell me you fell it”

“Try it again. I fucking dare you.”

They circled one another like wild beasts, ravenous eyes devouring every minuscule twitch. Ren’s threat was a raspy, breathless growl. They’d been at this for hours. Everyone else got bored of watching them and went home. But the Jedi Academy sparring ring was their playground tonight, and only they would decide when it was over.

Rey was prepared to end it right that second. Her muscles tensed and coiled as she matched his pace through the dusty sand at their feet. They were both covered in it now. Fine particles itched against their scalps as their teeth ground down upon crunching grains. It stuck to their sweaty skin, coating them like sugar.

“You dare me?” she taunted, raising a corner of her mouth in a sardonic smile.

“Yeah,” he huffed. His dark eyes flashed with hunger. “What’s wrong? Are you scared, Rey?”

She laughed—it was a harsh cackle that cut through the air with a serrated edge. “Of you? That’s hilarious.”

“Is it?”

His head tilted to the side. He looked for all the world like a wolf honing in on its prey. And then he lunged.

The dust floated up into her mouth and eyes and she squinted against its grating sting, throwing her arms up in front of herself. He barrelled into her and they tumbled to the ground, meeting it quickly. The air was forced from Rey’s lungs and her vision went fuzzy as they rolled together. When the pressure in her chest began to abate, she raked her fingernails over his cheek and throat, screaming with primal rage as she tried to come out on top.

But he threw a foot out at just the right angle and brought them to a sudden stop, quickly and firmly pinning her to the ground with his body. He pressed himself against her until she could barely move and kept her hands above her head by gripping her wrists. All she could do was glare up at him with that familiar fire in her eyes while their chests heaved with rapid, desperate breaths.

“Doesn’t seem to be quite so funny now,” Kylo purred, his lips mere inches from hers.

Her breath audibly caught in her throat and her eyes fluttered, seemingly of their own accord. She could feel his hot breath skirting along her jaw, mingling with her own in the narrowing gap between them. Fine red lines had bloomed across his cheek and down the side of his throat from her attempts to hurt him. But all she could truly focus on was the feeling of his hard body pressing her into the sand.

His lips twitched into a crooked, devious smile. She caught a flash of teeth before he spoke, low and soft.

“Are you scared now?”
