Three dilapidated billboards in east Bristol have got us thinking about how the space could look different.

What would you rather see instead of corporate advertising?

These advertising hoardings were erected without any planning permission in Totterdown, degrading the local environment. Really glad to see the company being forced to remove them by @bristolcouncil.bsky.social planning enforcement team. @adblockbristol.bsky.social

Great news that #Bristol City Council have refused 3 applications from BT for unnecessary 'Street Hubs' so far BUT bad news that BT are not getting the hint & have made 2 more applications on Gloucester Rd & Brislington Hill 🤬 - find out more & object here: adfreecities.org.uk/2025/02/awkw...
Awkward! BT resubmits unwanted ad plans for Bristol - Adfree Cities

This is the third time BT have tried to flood the city with intrusive and ugly street hub ad screens ☠️☠️☠️

If you've got a minute please put in an objection using the link below. Objections really do make a difference!

An Adblock member has started a petition to end junk mail generically addressed to "the occupier" or "the homeowner".

Because they are addressed you can't opt out in the normal way. This kind of junk mail is really irritating and a massive waste of paper.

Petition: Ban junk mail generically addressed to "The Occupier", "The Householder" etc
Please ban these addressed forms of junk mail now, i.e. mail addressed to generic addressees (e.g. The Occupier) where no commercial relationship is already in place.

Fossil fuels are now arguably a more pressing health threat than smoking. So why don't we respond in the same way?

Very frustrating that Bristol Council have approved a new digital billboard, despite massive opposition.

What is the point of a planning system that puts absolutely zero weight on local people's views?

We need change. Agree? Head to actionnetwork.org/letters/bett...

Very sorry to say that this billboard was approved by 5 votes (Labour, Lib Dem, Cons) against 3 Green.

Bristolians deserve better than endless, energy-crunching digital screens pushing more and more stuff.

Too many billboards, not enough trees! ✊🌳
Today we held a demo outside City Hall to protest a proposed new digital billboard over St Philips Causeway.

Bristol doesn't want or need more massive billboards!

Let's hope the council hears our voices and blocks this application.
