I am frankly a little astonished at the Lowy Institute publishing this writing. Considering the authors background and affiliations I question how this writing could make the cut outside of "official statement"-levels of representation.
This is a really problematic piece for it’s effort to “both sides” the issue, and in doing so legitimise 🇨🇳 claims that have been explicitly rejected under the terms of an agreement Beijing has signed.

The extremely unique Raytheon Canada MK.III Sea Sparrow launchers on the Canadian Iroquois Class destroyer, before its TRUMP upgrade to standard MK.41 VLS. They were unique in that they had a folding system where the Sparrows would fold away when not in use

The B-52H was loaded with 8 Short-Range Attack Missiles (each armed with a 170-200-kiloton W69 warhead) and 4 B28 bombs (70 kilotons to 1.45 Megatons).
