I don't think they know what works and what doesn't, but I think that many of them share the prejudices against trans people that make anti-trans messages appealing.
This is a big problem bc their real issue is not being perceived as authentic, and their support for trans people is not authentic.

the democrats could easily out-message the republicans on trans rights, but they do not want to. they know what works and what doesn't and they will keep doing what doesn't work on purpose

Dang, now this is becoming some sort of AI shibboleth... Time to start just mispelling abunch of stuff and have grammatically error - all to maintain the ability to use a dash
Also, thinking about becoming a dash person here - really classes up the place - but I refuse to learn the conventions and no one ever needs to tell me the difference between them all

Thinking a lot about how hard it would be to explain to a young voter today how DEEPLY uncool republicans/republicanism was in the 00's. The "coolness" of parties seems like its pretty much completely in inverted.... Probably a fine trend
