This is shockingly close to how I finally made the decision to come out and transition.
One thing people kind of tell you, but not really, about middle age:

One day you'll be like "oh [thing] looks fun but people will think I'm a loser" about a thing

And then you'll say. Wait a second.

I cannot be against more people having access to medically useful drugs, but also Jesus fucking Christ.
Trump announced a deal to lower weight loss drug prices while simultaneously banning "fat people" from entering the United States. All very normal stuff for a president.

Absolute fucking suicide cult of a country.
#BREAKING: Justice Jackson has issued an "administrative" stay, temporarily pausing a district court order that would've required the USDA to continue using contingency funds to pay SNAP benefits.

The stay expires 48 hours after the First Circuit rules on USDA's request for a stay pending appeal.

Marisa is out there doing proper journalism just as always.
New — While some states have received SNAP benefits for November and USDA is supposedly pushing through all federal payments soon, that doesn’t erase the psychological terror of the last few weeks.

I spoke with 20+ SNAP recipients in 16 states about preparing for a possible future with no food:
The voices of SNAP
Recipients have become political pawns. They explained, in their own words, what Trump withholding funds has been like.

whatever you think of Spanberger, the fact that her opponent ran a campaign based almost entirely on transphobia and is on track to eat shit in the biggest blowout the state has seen since 2009 is unambiguously a huge win
Earle-Sears ran what felt like 12 billion ads about how much she hated trans kids and I didn’t hear a single pundit say she should stick to real issues that affect real people.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrat Abigail Spanberger wins Virginia governor’s race.

if you didn't follow the VA governor race you didn't know that Earle-Sears ran like a billion anti-trans campaign ads and Spanberger didn't flinch or pull a Newsom.

going all-in against trans people is a losing move, especially when the federal government has made harming and killing us a priority.

The reason these people are so convinced that they're in danger is because they know exactly what they would do, given the chance, to people *they* dislike, and they're afraid that everyone else thinks and acts exactly like they would.

When I was in my teens, my father talked a few times about how, when he was that age, he thought that the world would end in nuclear war before he had a chance to grow old and how happy he was that my sister and I never had to experience that fear.

There are files to 3D print Paterson reels for developing 110 film. My friend's 3D printer can handle the print...

The takeaway here is that my friend is about to get a free dinner and I'm about to get a lot more annoying with 110 film.
