Verified this is authentic. It's the Blues Brothers Pope.
What's from Chicago, hates Illinois Nazis, and is holy as fuck?

It's the Pope in 1982.

Read your contracts, friends.
On August 12, 1971, 16-year-old me mailed the first story I ever wrote off on its first submission to my dream market, F&SF. My tale was quickly rejected. On July 17th, 2025, I finally sold a story to that magazine. Here's why I felt I had to withdraw that story. www.scottedelman.com/wordpress/20...

The #measure of her days became tight and confined, marked by how many skeins of other people's pain she could card and twist into yarn. The plague went on and so did she, helping the sick to survive or at least pass without pain. Then one day it ended. Her yarn stash remained. #vss365 #MicroFiction

look I know being an engaged citizen IS the work of democracy but it is also the work of elected officials not to create situations where everyone has to be mobilized all the time to prevent them from allowing some kind of Dickensian horror on a Sunday night while you're in between loads of laundry

People look at him and me. They say that by all the #laws of nature, we should not be together. It's OK. I know I'm not fashionably pretty--or unfashionably pretty, either. And I still know my worth. It's amazing how powerful a bond murder is. And who doesn't like costumes? #vss365 🧵 1/2

When a trader knocked on her cottage door, she found that they didn't speak the same #language. That was no hindrance to trade. He recoiled from iron horseshoes but loved her blown glass beads. After the trade, he vanished into the ring of mushrooms that had appeared overnight. #vss365 #MicroFiction

Hey, jerk, why don’t you go experience a moment of pure wonderment? Go heal your inner child, ya little punk!

It is necessary to consider a person's romantic #history before attempting to move into their home and take over their family. I learned that the first time I tried it. Nearly got exorcised and/or arrested that time, and I have no desire to spend the next 100 years in jail. #vss365

The #geography of dreams is a tricksy thing. It *does* exist, unique to itself and not to the dreamer, though there are those who argue otherwise. Magritte and Dalí hid their maps in their art, but me? I'm willing to sell, for a very reasonable price.

The #creature oozed along the floor, leaving a trail of evaporating ectoplasm. Truly a disgusting sight, but...she noticed the floor was clean where it had passed. Now THAT had potential. "I'll take it," she told the gibbering apartment agent. "Flatmate and all." #vss365 #MicroFiction #AmWriting

Tried the "giving ramen (or candy) for Halloween" thing this year. Observations! Less than half took ramen, mostly teens, and the trending brands were way most popular, LOL. Got some repeats in that age group. Little kids didn't even. They were just there for the candy, man.(🧵1/?) #Halloween
