Good that Canada joins coalition to fight against climate disinformation (so maybe don't weaken greenwashing law?) www.euronews.com/green/2025/1...

A thread no one needed:

I created a Twitter/X account after a 2-year break to see all the VC Twitter hype and it was just that - lots of hype, and a lot of people patting each other on the back for essentially saying the same thing over and over again (it's an echo chamber!) 1/5

When a startup you flagged months ago closes a $14M round 🔥

I've been following SenseNet for a few months.

Their multimodal detection (gas sensors + vision AI + satellite) beats single-sensor competitors, and wildfire detection is shifting from optional to mandatory infrastructure.

I posted a rather glib thread about the data center on Threads and pissed off a lot of people.

It also showed me what Albertans are really worried about. Unsurprisingly, it’s jobs.

Canada needs to grow new industries like AI and advanced computing. At the same time, we cannot ignore the trade-offs. Communities in the US are already losing access to drinking water because of data centres.

Being from #Alberta is painful y'all! It's a beautiful nightmare:

- absolutely stunning mountains
- pockets of arts and culture
- kind and smart people

but also, a government that fundamentally doesn't seem to want to fix any of the issues Albertans are facing daily.

im curious what the means for biotech startups that are in this space....my initial thoughts:

- consumer preferences trump first-mover advantage.
- compounded drug competition is REAL and pricing pressure is intense.
- even revolution drugs aren't immune to disruption.
