Meet Shakira. Ten years ago, she was living in a shelter with her three kids, working at a non-union hotel.

Now she's a member of HTC.

Unions are how working people can build a dignified life. But in a city as expensive as ours, they need local government on their side.

Some incredibly good news:

One year ago this week, The Onion returned to print.

In that one year, we’ve grown to the 13th largest print newspaper in the United States, just ahead of the Boston Globe, and growing fast.

In short, it’s working.

So… thank you. Thank you for helping save this thing.
Exclusive | The Onion Brought Back Its Print Edition. The Gamble Is Paying Off.
Publications turn to the old-style products to appeal to nostalgic readers and stand out in a crowded digital-media landscape.

There are 33m companies in the USA. Only 21k employe 500 or more. And they only make up 23% of workers.

Trump and Elon are ignoring the more than 32m entrepreneurs that can't afford to build a new factory or pay tariffs or absorb cancelled contracts.

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back.

This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008.

Also bigger than the 2024 DNC.

And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

The "left" actually means center but MAGA and Republicans have framed anything left of them as "communism" so since most people know nothing about history, political science, sociology gobble it up and regurgitate.

The same way prices went up after the pandemic so the companies can make up on lost revenue, things will spike again right after. All this does is give investors an opportunity to buy stocks in bulk today at a lower cost, only for them to go up again tomorrow and there after.
Although I agree with the principle of it, I’m apprehensive since boycotts don’t work unless they’re long-term.

Doesn’t benefit renters since the tax savings won’t be passed on to them from the property owner. Meanwhile, their sales taxes will still go up. 33% of FL residents rent.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges.

This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

Wondering at what point they'll realize that laying people off of jobs en mass causes unemployment, which is a metric used to determine the health of our economy.
CDC source:

“We just had word that all our fellows and post doc staff are laid off effective immediately. The famous Epidemic Intelligence Service, aka the Disease Detectives, is no more. That’s 1260 staff.

They are calling this ‘Phase 1’.”

“A candidate facing supporters with highly expressive partisan concerns can run a campaign

Ever notice how elections feel like the Super Bowl? That’s because modern partisanship is less about policy and more about identity & emotions. Let’s talk about why you’re more likely to campaign for your “team” than for an issue. 👇

Our current health care system is not designed to provide quality care to all people.

It is designed to make huge profits for insurance & drug companies.

In that sense, the system is working very well.

But it is not working for the average American.

We need Medicare for All.

Another consideration with Leon’s shenanigans…

When will other countries sue us for letting hackers to have access to their citizens’ data? There are a lot of non-citizens who work in America and have now had their data breached.

Wait until we are hit with international lawsuits, too.
