Meet my Grandma. We share a name. In 1914 she came to America, leaving a small German village in current 🇺🇦 to escape fascism. Here with her brother from russia visiting after 60 years apart. Her smile. She had a hard life. It was rare to see her so happy. When he returned, he was imprisoned 10 yrs.

My latest story for @latimes.com is about Mia Zapata, the Mexican American singer of The Gits who was killed in 1993. Sub Pop Records is re-releasing the album "Frenching the Bully," proving that Mia's legacy is still going strong more than 30 years after her death

Administration officials today seemed to illustrate their utter disregard for the work their jobs require and their refusal to govern for Americans. Instead, they seem to see their offices as ways to get access to large amounts of money and power they can use to impose their will on the country~HCR

Neighbor’s pine tree did not survive the 15 May 2025 storm. House suffered a crushed gutter and siding and some holes in the roof. Lucky it wasn’t worse. This is #climatechange

It's tough to refer to someone as a criminal if you've given them no due process to determine whether they're a criminal. Like if you get arrested and get a trial and are convicted of 34 felony counts. That's due process. You can call that guy a criminal.
