I feel like I say this every year but I really need people to hear it. Halloween is the best American holiday. Just kids outside welcomed into their world, marching around together, showing off their costumes to the elderly, parents meeting parents, neighbors catching up with neighbors.

Every party I've gone to I always find myself ready to go like 30 minutes before I should leave so I'm all dressed up just to wait around for a while. Especially pronounced on Halloween lol

If I see an acronym that's like 5+ letters and vaguely pronounceable I assume it's a meaningless backronym and rarely even look up what it stands for

As a kid I fully believed in addition to our aboveground railroads there was also a massive north/south subway built in secret to help people escape slavery.
Did actually learn about the underground railroad in elementary school which cleared that up but could you imagine?! What a world

Wish I had a creative writing class so I could reflect on how Free Bird and Bittersweet Symphony both offer opposing perspectives on a self that's fixed, set in a mould, that cannot change.
