He is also the founding director of the Center for the Study of Race, Politics and Culture there. Yup. My opening pitch (courtesy of this image) to my Exploring History students this year will be that History is the least intimidating of disciplines. Everyone thinks they can do it because they constantly make reference to the past in their daily lives -- plus we tend to "hide" our theory.
