In a poll from August Cameron rated as a better PM than any that followed him but worse (in terms of net rating) than any that came before him. So not popular but less unpopular than most Tories.

What a total scorcher today 🥵Carrying on my tradition of having worn shorts to every EISA event since 2018 #EWIS2025

Kicking it off in budget airline style for #EWIS2025.

Looking forward to being in Krakow for the first time since 1999.

Does anyone else miss slow news days?

Yep, my son was born here in 2015 and I can concur, it’s truly dreadful…#OurNHS

Sad to hear about the passing of Jimmy Carter…as US Presidents go, a genuinely decent guy.

Sorely underrated for his foreign policy and a pioneer of human rights diplomacy.

(Back when human rights were an aspirational thing of course…)

In response, I develop a new typology of positive civilian protection - practices that embody fuller solidarity with protected people and enable them to flourish as a socially embedded individuals.

No pesky paywall - open access for everyone to enjoy!

I use the case of #UKAsylumPolicy, to explore the paradox of negative protection - practices that claim to offer protection whilst simultaneously making those protected systematically vulnerable.

Sad news about the passing of Johan Galtung. So important in transforming our understanding of peace and violence, and very significant influence on my thinking right up to now. Love introducing my Critical Military Studies students to his work. #PeaceStudies #IR

Sad to say goodbye to Ulrich West today. A great family friend, wonderful artist and amazing person. Rest easy Ulrich.

Can you separate the art from the artist, when the art and the artist have caused so much suffering?

Always difficult to reconcile my finding books by #Kissinger interesting (even enjoyable) and his atrocious disregard for human life.

Oddly, given that the performance bar is so low, appointing a failed (but less atrociously unpopular) former PM could potentially work for them.

Wow, the man responsible for the UK’s worst foreign policy disaster of the 21st Century, appointed as Foreign Secretary.

There really is a talent vacuum… #UKForeignPolicy #Brexit

Bagged some classics from Kingbee Records in Chorlton today. CDs are ace…cooler than vinyl, more convenient and sound way better #unpopularopinion

Hello BlueSky, I’m Johnny.

It’s tough starting out on a new social media platform on a day with such dreadful news.
