Wrote a review for NDPR of Stefan Riederner’s excellent book Uncertain Values, defending Expected Value Maximization. I complain that EVM is higher-order inconsistent, and it requires intertheoretic comparisons of value — which (despite recent efforts) seem arbitrary.
