Health services researcher recently transplanted to VT. Wearing merino wool & voting with my purse because that feels like all I can control.

Public Health 38%
Economics 31%
Debunked, half-true, and deeply ableist. RFK Jr. knows shockingly little about autism.
RFK Jr. knows amazingly little about autism
For someone who's been talking about it for so long, the HHS secretary got many basic facts wrong.

Canceled immediately after Bezos thwarted the WP endorsement of Harris and haven't looked back.

Damn.

“Let's play Twister, let's play Risk / Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah / I'll see you in heaven if you make the list / Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.”

Jeez, that feels bleak, yet here we are.

Jimmy Carter was a true public servant and peacemaker. Our country is a better place because of him. My thoughts are with his family.

I am going to weigh into the debate and say SAS. Yes, it's expensive and proprietary. Yes, it runs really slow with lots of data. Yes, its survey procs are limited. But it's what I learned to code in, dammit!

This *was* on my Bingo card for this term and is bad news for rural and remote folks. There is no profit margin in the rural routes.
This is their goal. Privatize everything.

And by “privatize” we mean steer billions to themselves and their friends, ending programs that serve those with the least under the guise of “efficiency”.

Rural areas will suffer. Prices will rise.

I remember your two kitchens from back in the Twitter days. It made me happy to imagine reproductive freedom and many, many pies baking.
Public praise for a killer is an escalation of a troubling trend: bloodlust for destruction & retribution. Americans are rejecting leaders who propose solutions for problems, in favor of antiheroes who just want to burn everything down—figuratively or literally www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

Ran around Roosevelt Island this morning, past the ruins of a smallpox hospital (now on the National Register of Historic Places).

Vaccines work. #idsky #episky

Women with obstetric fistulas suffer year after year, even as a $619 surgery can restore them.

I had polio when i was 9. I was taken from my parents & placed in a Hospital for contageous diseases- the polio ward. I would see them once a week - thru the glass window at the end of my ward. I could not walk. It was terrifying. Kids died. Iron lungs were awful. Dont let RFK Jr ban the vaccine

Ditto!

I call mine "strays"

I keep wandering around this site and getting smacked with deja vu. I saw someone's Wordle, then a Jorts post, then the real Mark Hamill, and a reference to health policy valentines. Can bean can dad outrage, spa days for follow numbers, or feral hogs be far behind?

As a brand new Vermonter I endorse this.

I am in this weird time loop now where I joined Twitter in 2016 as a third year faculty member teaching health policy. I needed the hive mind to survive that semester. Eight years later with no courses here I am again and not.

First post: a stressed-out person looking for a little echo chamber opportunity and some respectful dialogue. And maybe a Wordle post or two.
