Deeply encouraged by the creative, innovative, rigorous, multi-level research being reported on in this session on ‘Frontiers on climate and health research’ at #HumanitarianHealthResearchForum. Great to see pooling of ideas drawn from Micronesia, South Sudan and arid areas of East Africa.

Was there ever a more important time to gather to consider priorities and strategies for humanitarian health research?

#HumanitarianHealthResearchForum - co-hosted by Elrha and @APHRC - begins in Nairobi tomorrow.

Great video. Great initiative. Great expectations of impact.

And - between (2) and (3) - (4): an hour celebrating the transcendent beauty of these works of art at the National Gallery. Hoping to sustain hope in the days ahead…

(2) Meeting with Wellcome colleagues to discuss ambitious investment to determine concrete ‘solutions’ regarding mental (ill)health, climate and infectious disease; (3) Former FCDO colleagues expressing determination to protect evidence as the foundation of an informed, humane humanitarianism

(1) A resolute and upbeat briefing for Columbia faculty noting that the institution is older than the nation and has outlived all US administrations and many turbulent periods.

After several weeks of feeling deeply discouraged and unable to post anything of value I am delighted to share a juxtaposition of a few experiences that have helped me cultivate some fragments of optimism.

To Nana and all - happy BIRTHday!
